Indeed it is going to be difficult to put the white king on e1 moving him only as this square is in the range of a black pawn.

Possibly shorter exists but that must be the general idea ?
Nice try but remember that the black king has to make it as hard as possible for white to get to e1 and after 53...Ka7 the black king will have no legal moves on the next turn so you cannot continue.

Nice one, I think that's the quickest route. Also that sneaky pawn wasn't quite as sneaky as I first thought although it adds a few moves.
