how do you get a FIDE rating?

Does anyone knows exactly what costs (in dollars, euros or whatever) to get the titles (CM,FM,IM,GM) after, of course, the conditions/norms are accepted by FIDE? Is there a price difference between them? And I heard that that there are some new lower titles now, even for ratings under 1800, I think. By the way, there`s no chess club in my city or near it, so I never had any official otb rating, let alone a FIDE rating, so I`m just curious.
About #11, Don`t offend KC!!! By the way, he could ask for an upgrade to LM, before he gets the FM title.
#13 kc will never get the fm title, i am a fan of kc its just he doesnt play much otb chess (maybe once a year) and he also has to many things on his mind other than chess
UPGRADE to LM? lol?

2200 FIDE is way more impressive than any lichess rating, that's the truth.
Pay money, get a member ID and a provisional rating.

You don't even need to know the rules of the game in order to gain a rating, all you need to be conscious of is covering your membership fees. I rather stay busy at Online Chess.

2.2 "Applications must be submitted to FIDE by the federation of the applicant. The national federation is responsible for the fee"

It depends of the contry, but it becomes profitable really fast (invitation for tournaments, etc. )
I see nobody has mentioned the elephant in the room, FIDE Online Arena titles. As FIDE eloquently puts it "FIDE titles for lower rated players". You can get a FOA Master title for showing up for your online game, since 1400 elo is the qualification grade after 100 games and everyone is started at 1800 elo. lol. Oh and don't forget the 15 euros fee. FIDE titles for sale it seems.
