Is there any way the facilities of Lichess can be used to enter and save a game by hand for purposes of study? And, if not, is there any software online (for MacOS) that could be used for this purpose?

Create a lichess study.
lichess.org/studyYou can input the game and annotate it in the study, and it will be saved for you.
You can make a new study at
lichess.org/study and enter the moves there. You can also import the PEN if you have it.
Stockfish can be downloaded for Os X, but honestly I find lichess' study a lot easier to use.
Many thanks to "doom12384" "zbidwell" and "sjcjjoosten" for their responses to my question about entering a game (or position) by hand. I have no experience with lichess/study but intend to get some quickly.
