People who leave games without resigning

God, cope with it. You agreed to play a game with a specific time, and you win when your opponent exceeds his time.
I know it is annoying. I know I became angry many times when I knew there is only one move to checkamte and I have to sit there for a couple of minutes. Especially in a Uxxx tournament where you need to play many games within 1 hour.
But that is how people are. Sure, some of them are angry at home, losing, and shouting to their computer screen: "So you think you won, heh? Well, now you wait 8 minutes and sit there doing nothing. Har har ..." - It is sad that they act that way, but Lichess cannot change it.
Because they cannot be too eager with banning either. Sometimes I really sat there, desperately trying to find a possible move, forgetting about time - and I got that warning. I trust that will have no consequences because it rarely happens.
They have to find a balance, and they ae good and fair at it. Still, you always will have threads betwenn "ban all of them, when they leave" and "What did I wrong, I just used my time" ... And always these discussions as though somewhere in the world MrLichess were sitting and enjoying one's annoyance to have to sit and wait ... It is ridiculous.
Something which will likely never be done but would work well to cut out on time lost waiting in completely won position because the opponent decides to let his time run out : a "finish against Stockfish" option. In equal positions or sharp positions this would be a bad idea to use, but when the win is trivial it would speed up things against uncooperative opponents, especially if such childish behavior (letting time run out) happens in a tournament where time matters.

For example, in this game my opponent had a single legal move before a mate in 1 but let his clock run out (over 1 minute) rather than playing it or resigning : lichess.org/K4OKjgDH/black#52
Here we go again.
Gave his queen away for nothing.
Instead of resigning he decides to timeout. That's just childish.
BAN THE PLAYER!
Lichess gets _nothing_ from supporting this kind of behaviour.

Game I played before I gave my queen away in something even more stupid. I let a pawn take it for no reason. I immediately resigned. I didn't let the service timeout.

What about a subscription based service where you can opt in to play people with better records?

Whether it's your thinking or not, "finish against Stockfish" sounds like a brilliant idea...
That sounds interesting but will it mean the cheaters just leave even more regularly if it means the computer can finish the games for them (they might figure the computer has a better chance of winning then them, especially at lower levels).
