Solar Energy

I was surprised of how much the photovoltaic energy has evolved.

From an expensive waste of money, it seems to have become one of the cheapest sources of energy available, with a promisse of being dramatically reduced in costs even more!

What do you think about it? Your opinions, please, if they provide insight and information.
the bigger picture is, that prices for electric energy will fall because of it. soon everything fossil powered will become more expensive while those who buy electric cars and heating systems and produce the energy themselves will benefit.
Solar is a bit more expensive per kilowatt hour --- at night.

Thank goodness night is so short everywhere. We have to get rid of night entirely! For the planet!

good luck with that I guess

if your machines are not too old, you can sync them to load and wash when sun is shining, also you can do that manually.

but yes, prices for electric energy will likely become more dynamic in the future.

that will lead to reduced base load requirements, and thus even less dependence on fossil fuels.
I hope I didn't inspire any thought or worry: after all, someday we'll learn to go around those pesky laws of physics and get lunar power up and running! So that we can have power during the OTHER half of the day. For the planet!

Oh, wait. What will we do when it's cloudy or there's no moon?

Don't worry, they'll come up with something. Dog sleds are probably not appreciated enough in the lower 48. What about dog sleds of a new design? Or dog turbines? Of course, we'd have to supply a lot, and I mean a WHOLE lot, of treats to make that work.

In the meantime, some might like to look up "line losses." To see if maybe we can wire electric power over from sunny Italy! And maybe we should check to see if dogs make methane. Unfortunately, I think they might.

Don’t you dare, night needs to be increased!
