When chess is no longer fun

Back in primary school my friends who played chess were all garbage. Even as I played, chess was less of a game to play and improve at, but more of something to kill time. Very rarely did we have a completed game since moves were played very slowly and often games were decided at who had more pieces taken (yes, it's that level of kindergarten bantering).

Compared to a loose environment like that lichess is definitely more competitive. But it also gives an incentive to get better. It's natural to feel stressed in the face of good opponents but it's good to not let it get to you and just enjoy chess at your own pace.
