@Catspaw that's right, it's so annoying to deal with that kind of discussion in 2018... @GMScuzzBall That data is interesting, where did u get it?
#15 "Only 2% of tournament chess players are women but they make up the 3% of the worlds top 1000 players."

All three Polgar sisters achieved high levels. Judith, who was ranked tenth in the world at her peak, having beaten or drawn on occasion world champions Anand and Kasparov, explains that she benefited from being the youngest sister, which afforded her the opportunity to play her older sisters when she was very young. The girls' father trained them deliberatively to prove that women can play as well as men. I think he proved his point, and Judith's explanation about how she learnt from her sisters further bolsters the point that the issue is environmental, not some innate lack of ability, "spatial reasoning", or whatever. A few generations ago it was thought that women couldn't be doctors or lawyers (despite most doctors in the Soviet Union being women). Today most doctors and lawyers in the west are female. These phenomena are best explained by social and cultural factors, not innate cognitive abilities.
Chess is no longer gender based. [ Gender has nothing to do with chess ]
I think in far future, its gonna be species based.
