Women's College Hoops: Sweet 16.

I shall insist correctly and adamantly: not all the good college hoops action that is coming right up will be played by men.

There have already been some good games. There are still some coming right up.

Are you planning on watching at least some of it on Friday and Saturday? Colorado -- Iowa will be a very good game, I believe, and it won't be the only one. I hope I've got the times right. I don't like to miss history as it unfolds.

Anybody have an opinion about who comes out on top, after all the dust settles?
Oh, consider me disgusted. No responses about women's hoops? You ladies and gentlemen apparently don't know what's good.

The Hippo, and the Women's Sweet 16 in this year's tournament. That's what's good. Expand your horizons -- or at least wear a pocket protector so you easily can be identified and carefully avoided!
You are trying to shame/insult people into watching basketball?

I know people who go to watch sporting events if they have family members/friends involved but would never expect or demand the public in general show interest.

go Notre dame
I haven't kept up with women's college basketball since Griner was still at Baylor.

I prefer men's. I know the joke is that men's is better because of dunks, but I always like watching defensive plays, and women's basketball doesn't have the same kind of shot-blocking.

Unless Griner's involved.
I don't really follow college basketball men's or women's but hope Caitlin Clark and Iowa do well! I somewhat follow the Indiana Fever and they have the first round draft pick and I really hope they get Clark!
Thank you for responding, even if that implies fewer pocket protectors will be used! (And, as a chess player, I'm all in favor of a good pocket protector).

I just hoped to highlight the undeniable fact that some of the upcoming games -- I dare say most -- okay, actually, I dare say all -- should prove to be very interesting.

Colorado has its work cut out for them, for example, playing against mighty Iowa and its rare talent -- but they are not lacking in experience and have shown some greatness of their own this year, and just might just pull it off! And that, frankly, would be very interesting. Notre Dame and Oregon State could be a real nail biter, too!

And then there's South Carolina. Lions, and Tigers and Bears! Oh, my. It has fallen to Indiana to try to top them. And if they hang on and actually do that, expect to see a LOT of highlight videos and excitement. Actually, let me amend that: it hasn't "fallen" to them. They earned the right to be there.

My perception is that the women's college game has improved a lot over the years, and I hope that others feel the same or will soon discover such a feeling. Women's tennis and golf already seem to be widely engaging, and women's round ball deserves a strong and growing following, in my sometimes-humble opinion.

I've got no axe to grind for any particular team left in the race, but I think they all deserve a bit of buzz. And after Friday and Saturday, it's just going to keep getting even more interesting.

Of course, if somebody simply doesn't like basketball, I'll admit that there's more than one way to manifest good taste in athletics -- and I'll cling to the worthy hope that they will nevertheless rightfully value Liverpool football.
I watched a few more Iowa highlights this week, Clark's confidence is catching on with her teammates.
