Women's College Hoops: Sweet 16.

The difference between men’s and women’s hoops is the same as the difference between mens and women gymnastics, tbh, I’ve never got super hype for a women’s hoops game the same way i never get hype for men’s gymnastics in the Olympics, I’m glad that the women’s game is gaining and that it is getting more interesting, Caitlin Clark is a BALLER, but the mens game just has something i don’t think the women’s game ever will.
Can I Just say now that Iowa is out that if there's one thing I am sick and tired of seeing on social media it's this narrative that people are racist and only like Caitlin Clark 'cause she's white?

I'm sure that's the case with some people, b/c, undoubtedly, there are racists out there who watch basketball just like there are racists out there, existing among good, decent, caring, non-racist, non-scummy people every day.

But. I like Caitlin Clark as a player and it's not just b/c she's white for god's sake.

If anything she's like, the one white basketball player I've somewhat followed.

Otherwise every NBA player I've paid attention to has been Black - Reggie Miller and Victor Oladipo (pre-Oladipo getting injured and leaving the Pacers) are the only two players I've ever had a jersey/t-shirt for. Favorite current Pacers players in terms of a jersey/t-shirt I'm tempted to get if they both seem like they're sticking around are Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam. Haliburton b/c he can shoot 3s and get the ball to the right guy when he needs to, Siakam because he seems to be the one who always comes through when the game starts going sideways.

Is Clark maybe getting media attention, etc. b/c she's good at basketball AND white, maybe, I don't know. But for me, no, I don't just like her b/c she's freakin' white.

I am just the opposite regarding man and women basketball. I prefer the style of basketball played in the 50s and 60s. Passing and shooting that is played below the rim. Not todays game of dunking and playing above the rim. The women offer that style of game.
You know what, I feel like it's possible to enjoy both men's and women's basketball. That's probably an unpopular opinion here but I can enjoy both, personally. They're different styles despite being the same game. For some, women's basketball will be more exciting as several of you have expressed, for others, men's basketball might be more exciting.

For me, good basketball is good basketball and I can find something to enjoy.
